Can you make a patch from the root directory, as per Contributing to Django?  It's not trivial to find the right directory for these.  (What's the language code for irish, for instance?)
FWIW, I'm completely unqualified to assess the quality of Irish translation.

Thanks for reviewing this, I've uploaded the same patch taken from the root django trunk (http://code.djangoproject.com/svn/django/trunk).
I've also reset needs_better_patch as it should be good to go now.
