Replying to arien:
The spelling of various Spanish provinces is incorrect:
Actually, I looked up the Spanish region/provice names in Wikipedia and other sources but for the anemd I didn' t recognize I decided to leave the translation unmodified from their original literals because it seemed obvious the Spanish authors of the Span localflavor (that's where these literals come from) know better than me the names of Spain locations.
If you are a Spanish native you may want to open a ticket+patch fixing these errors in the Spain localflavor (django/contrib/localflavor/es/es_provinces.py
).
I'm correcting these translations based on the values you posted.
(You might want to copy these from the ES translation.)
Also, the name of the South African province North West is translated as North Rhine-Westphalia
Fixed, thanks
Finally, I came across two typos: 9NIP) should be (NIP), and Degocios should be Negocios.
Fixed, thanks

The names in django.contrib.localflavor.es
aren't in Spanish. They are English translations, some times even of the Basque or Catalan name for a province. :-)
You'll find Spanish translations in django/conf/locale/es/LC_MESSAGES/django.po
(which is why I suggested you copy those).

Somebody forgot to run bin/compile-messages.py -l es_AR
before submitting the patch. It had errors. :-)
I fixed it.

Also, the name of the South African province North West is translated as North Rhine-Westphalia (a state in western Germany). If you decide to translate the names of the South African provinces, maybe you could use:
(I don't know of any "official" names for these provinces in Spanish.)
Finally, I came across two typos: 9NIP) should be (NIP), and Degocios should be Negocios.
