Sorry to bring this back I tried to comment on #542 but I don't seem to be allowed to do so...
It's not the first time that some enduser ask me how to cancel a delete action, they are confused that there is no cancel button.
This only applies to the delete action anyway.
After so long, is there any chance you would reconsider this ? I think that the cancel button should redirect to the change list view or the edit object view, depending on where you are coming from and that would make it.
If there is any chance we can reopen this I'll submit a PR on github and dig further down.
