Description

I found the wording/layout of the paragraph at the bottom of the doc pages a little muddled, plus the IRC channel was not hyperlinked. Patch attached.

r8925 did not fix this ticket, it does fix the other tickets mentioned (#7271, #7459, #7902, #8271, #8845).

This is now obsolete since the move to Sphinx for docs, with templates which do address the concerns in this ticket.
