Description
Now that the Sitemaps framework is part of Django (great job by the way) I was hoping that a bit could be added to enable gzip compression of the sitemap xml files after they are created. Both Yahoo! and Google recognize gzipped sitemaps, and Google's sitemap generator tool gzips them by default.
Think this is possible for Django?

Use the GzipMiddleware, or use a decorator on the sitemap view using the new functionality that allows URLconfs to accept callables rather than strings.
