Description

The list of DjangoPoweredSites is growing by the day. It would be great if we could offer a small, classy looking "Powered by Django" button (or two) for people who want to help promote the framework.

Strangely timely request. I just worked these up yesterday. Let me know what you think.

Beautiful!

Lovely :) Can we have a teeny-tiny one too?

Wow! This is exactly what I need for my sites! Suggestions: after approval let's put them somewhere on djangoproject.com, so developers can go and select appropriate buttons. In order to cater to different tastes, it would be better to have button sets in different colors and sizes.

Just my comment: I love wilsionians buttons: I don't like the 80x15 stuff - sorry, but you see those everywhere and I like it to be a bit different ;-)

comment:8 by Boffbowsh, 19 years ago

hugo, yes, they're everywhere, but if you have a list of XHTML1.1, CSS2.0, WAI, etc buttons like that anyway, the django one is perfect. However, wilsonian's are utter win

Yes, 80x15px icons are a bit of a meme and a convention at the moment, so my attempt deliberately fits in with that. See http://loadaveragezero.com/info/linking.php or the bottom of http://plone.org/ for examples of such icons grouped together.

I think having a Django icon gallery would be fun. And yes, I like Wilson's icons too! :o)

I think Dave's 80x15 icon is a useful addition, but it might fit better if the solid background colour matched the green Wilson used for his icons.

I'm still working on prepping the "official" icons - should have something today.

As far as the 80x15s go - I'm not going to create an official badge or encourage people to use badges in that format. I think they're overused, and I don't want to be a part of that - for the very reason that I don't really want to add Django to the list of arcane "credits" that fill up people's sidebars.

That said, I will make one of the official Django badges 80 pixels wide so it can fit in with the 80x15 badges, but still stand on its own.

What about a favicon while you're at it?

I made a really simple one when I added django to my drx database:
