Description
i was trying to subscribe to the django-user and django-devel mailing lists using a non-gmail email address.
i could not find anything about how to do it, i finally googled for it, and found that i can
send an email to
django-users-subscribe@…
it subscribed me correctly (got a confirmation mail, i replied and so on).
but i did not get any mails from the list.
so i sent an email to the google-support, and got back this:
==
Thank you for your note. It looks like the group owner set up the default
subscription as web-only. We've changed your subscription to email, and
you should begin receiving the group's messages soon.
==
(btw. it fixed my problem)
so, i'd propose as an enhancement:
Don't set up the default subscription to web-only.
because i think not everyone interested in django is willing to maintain a separate mail-account for django.
thanks

strange. after i've read your comment, i unsubscribed-and-subscribe-again to the -devel list, and now it works..
strange..
anyway.. i think it would be nice of the website would contain some info about how to use the mailing list without a gmail account.
i know that it's theoretically google's problem that it's not documented well,
but currently, if someone wants to join the django lists, the only "click-reachable" way is via a gmail account.
I'm subscribed to both lists with a non-gmail account.
