Description
The website looks old and points to a Twitter account that seems to have been hacked. What about keeping the domain name and make it point to https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/ref/contrib/gis/ ? We should also put the link to the google group in the official docs (I can do that as a part of #22274).

(In case we do proceed with this, I realized that there's no link to the geodjango mailing list in Django's documentation, we should probably link to it in any case)

django-developers thread. The issue is that the Django Software Foundation doesn't control the domain.
This isn't the correct place to make this proposal. I'd suggest to raise it on the DevelopersMailingList or the geodjango mailing list. I'm not sure who controls the geodjango twitter, but it doesn't look hacked to me (besides the last retweet having no obvious relevance to geodjango).
