Description

Hello,

I am the founder of the Worldwide Lexicon project (www.worldwidelexicon.org). WWL is an open source, collaborative translation memory that combines inputs from machine, volunteer and professional translators, and makes it easy to build translatable websites and apps via a simple API. We are publishing a Python SDK this week (watch www.worldwidelexicon.org/s/transkit.html ) which will make it easy to bake best effort translation into platforms like Django, hence my message. I'd like to work with you to make this accessible to Django users, as it makes localizing and translating a site a no-brainer. You can even request on demand professional translations from third party agencies for pennies per word when desired, all via a simple API that returns machine, volunteer and pro translations via a simple query.

I can be reached at bsmcconnell@… or Skype to discuss further. See also www.worldwidelexicon.org/api for API specs (our Python client library makes it super easy to interact with WWL, cache translations, etc.)

Best regards,

Brian McConnell

I'm going to mark this wontfix, because it isn't a concrete proposal. Trac is for logging and tracking known bugs and specific feature requests - if you want to let people know about a new product, or try and narrow down a broad idea into a specific proposal, use the mailing lists.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
