    1 I just released https://github.com/cb109/django-admin-changeform-actions, which seems to do pretty much what this ticket is about and I was asked to mention it here. It renders a slightly modified version of the actions dropdown to the changeform page and adds an extra POST view to handle running an action.

It renders a slightly modified version of the actions dropdown to the changeform page and adds an extra POST view to handle running an action. Let me be clear that I would indeed prefer a builtin solution that renders this package obsolete.
