Django sprint in Lawrence, KS, August 8th, 2008

We'll be holding a Django development sprint at the Lawrence Journal-World in Lawrence, KS on August 8th from 9am to 6pm.

This sprint will be focused on the bug fixes after the Django 1.0 feature freeze on August 5th. More details will be posted here and announced on django-dev as we get closer to the time of the sprint.

What's a sprint? How do I participate

See Sprints for information about how sprints work, how you can participate, etc.

Anybody, anywhere around the world, can participate and contribute. We'll be gathering in person in Lawrence, but if you can't make it you can also help out in IRC.

You can find all the gory details on the Sprints page.

Attendees

If you plan to participate in the sprint, please add your name to the roster below. We have space for around 30 attendees, so if things fill up we might have to cap attendance.

If you're coming from out of town and need help with travel arangements, please contact jacob -at- jacobian -dot- org.

Getting there

We'll be holding the sprint 609 New Hampshire, Lawrence KS (street view is looking right at the building).

If you're coming from out of town, Kansas City is the closest airport. If you don't want to rent a car, Jacob will be arranging rides to/from the airport; email jacob -at- jacobian -dot- org if you need to make arrangements.

Two hotels are within walking distance of the sprint location:

  • The Eldridge Hotel is gorgeous right in the heart of downtown, but rooms are limited and it often is full.
  • The Mariott is your typical nice chain hotel.

There's also some spare bedrooms/couches available; email Jacob if that's more your speed.
