    1111So that took me an age to sift through, and I may be missing something, but it leaves me unclear of how to review the ticket. The current PR does have some backwards compatability issues, I think any solution will have some. And I don't know if it is worth it.

     13What do you think @VIZZARD-X? Do we need this PR/ticket? Have I missed something? It may not seem like it but helping correctly triage this ticket is as helpful as a code contribution. I'd argue even more helpful. I value your thoughts as the PR author.
