This documentation is very unclear.  For example it doesn't state weather the static files have to be under the django project in the file hierarcy or under apache's Document Root.  Nor does it give an example of a suitable location for the files combined with an example reference path in an HTML file that will pick up said static file.  In the absence of these one is left trying almost endless combinations for static file folder locations and possible paths to reach those files.
