10936	Detailed instructions for getting Django and MySQL and MySQLdb working on various OS X versions	simon	nobody	"Getting MySQLdb working on OS X is an absolute nightmare, which has resulted in a flurry of blog posts such as the following:

http://www.keningle.com/?p=11

This really shouldn't be our problem since it's not a Django issue - but OS X / MySQL are an extremely common development platform for our user base and it makes a really bad impression if people can't get up and running with this (especially since PHP + MySQL on OS X works pretty much out of the box). I just had to talk someone through this over the phone and it was a bit embarrassing having to admit how miserable the MySQL / OS X installation experience for Django actually is.

We could do this as part of a larger project to bulk out our installation instructions for other platforms as well."	Cleanup/optimization	closed	Documentation	dev	Normal	fixed	mysqldb	timograham@…	Accepted	1	0	0	0	0	0
